Posts you liked the most in 2013!

It's almost 2014 (really?), and I decided to put together a list of the posts that were most read this year. Sand In My Toes will complete a year next month, and I didn't expect to even get the number of readers I did! It's been a pleasant surprise to see how many people actually read and commented on my posts. I've divided the top posts into the main subjects I write on, instead of making a mixed list. If you're new here, or haven't seen much of my blog, this will give you a good idea of what my blog is about!

Top 5 Parenting Posts

  1. What's your family's digital footprint? - I wrote about my concerns regarding privacy in the online domain, and the implications it could have for our kids in the future.
  2. Thankful for being a mother - I described my feelings of being lucky to be a mother, despite all the hard work that goes into it.
  3. Whatever your choice, you're a hard-working mom - I think mothers shouldn't be divided into two camps based on whether they work at home or outside. We're all doing the best we can for our families.
  4. The story of my trip to mom-jail - Little Dude pulled me up for spending too much time on my phone. It made me feel really guilty that he noticed!
  5. Parenting in a big, bad world - Our job as parents is becoming especially difficult in a world which is getting so unsafe for children, and what we can do about it.

Top 5 Toddler Posts

I write a lot about toddlers, because mine is always giving me 'Eureka' moments. Moments that sound more like a scream than a revelation!
  1. Hands Off - Little Dude learns to say the word 'Don't', but more often than he needs to!
  2. Linking Up - He puts two words together and learns to speak in phrases.
  3. Twinkle Twinkle - He surprises me with a rhyme.
  4. Surprise Package - He does so many new things, so fast.
  5. One Ant - He learns to count to one!

  2. The anatomy of a great post comment
  3. What does your blog look like on mobile?

Top 3 in Dubai Living

  1. The truth about seasons in Dubai - Why, of course, we have seasons other than summer. Nah, just kidding!
  2. An afternoon with giraffes and lions - A fun visit to Emirates Park and Zoo in Abu Dhabi.
  3. 42 reasons why I love Dubai - A tribute to my favourite city on UAE's National Day.

Here's hoping that I'll have a lot more to write about in the coming year. Stay tuned for surprises!
