L is for...Learning

I believe that learning is something we do all the time, and this is especially true for children, because they have such a thirst for knowledge. I think the best things they learn are outside the school walls, when they are learning from us and life itself. I'm not undermining institutional learning, but no education is complete without the process of discovery and exploration. This photo is a favourite of mine from when we made a windsock, and Little Dude was so fascinated by how wind works. I'm a big fan of Learning Through Play, and I try to incorporate that into everything we do. It's the best teaching technique because the learning happens in a fun and relaxed environment. If you think about what you've learned in your childhood, you'll best remember the things that happened when you were having fun!
You can also see my Learning Through Play board on Pinterest which has lots of ideas on making learning fun.

He certainly seem enthralled with his discovery, good job :-) #Alphabetphoto
Too true. Lovely to see them experiment and see the penny drop. They really don't realise that they are learning. Nice windsock too! #AlphabetPhoto
You're so right that learning can be a joy and fun for children when they're discovering and playing at the same time. lovely capture too!
So true, I love seeing them engaged and excited by a new, fun activity. Great photo x
