Finding the right shoe fit with Clarks

We recently visited Clarks store in the Mall of the Emirates for a shoe fitting, and realized how important it is for kids to have their feet measured by a professional. We were lucky enough to have a fitting done by Bob Hardy, a man known for his fitting skills. He has been in the industry for about 45 years, and was a treasure trove of information about how quickly kids wear out their shoes, how much they perspire, and what shoes fit them best.

For the fitting itself, he used a combination of experience and technology. The store has a measuring device which works with an iPad to get the perfect size. This was, of course, an interesting experience to Little Dude! Bob first used the device to get his shoe size, and then used a mechanical tool to measure the midfoot.

After trying two pairs they had in his size, Little Dude finally decided on the one he liked, after having a good look in the mirror.

We also met Clarks mascots Jack and Daisy at the store, and left with a good pair of school shoes that are really comfortable.

We chose the Deccan Boy shoes which have velcro straps, and are made with coated leather. They are also treated with an eco-friendly technology called Agion, which combats odor causing bacteris and resists fungal, mold and mildew growth. We're loving the pair!

Clarks is a 190-year old brand, so they know a thing or two about shoes. If you visit the store, be sure to check out their Autumn/Winter collection 2015. They have many new styles in store, and also a back-to-school collection for kids.

Check out the Clarks website to see their shoe styles available in the UAE.

We were invited to the Clarks store for this event, but all views and opinions are my own.
