Busy Hands: Straw Snowflake Craft

We don't get any snowfall here, but we love our winter crafts, like the Texture Art Snowman and Penguin Snow Globe we made earlier. For this snowflake craft, we used straws that give it a great 3-D effect! Our snowflake pattern is a simple one, but older kids could make more detailed patterns, and these would look great framed on the wall.

Cute and easy winter craft for toddlers and preschoolers! Use straws to make a snowflake pattern.

Materials you'll need for the Straw Snowflake Craft:

- White or translucent straws
- White glue (also called school glue)
- Blue card or craft paper
- Pencil and ruler

How to make it:

Draw the snowflake pattern on to the blue card lightly with a pencil and ruler.

Cut out straws in the right size and glue them on. This is a good exercise in measurement and cutting for preschoolers.

Let the glue dry completely before hanging up.

I chose a very basic pattern for Little Dude, but I'd love to make more of these myself!

You could also use blue straws and make the snowflake on a white background. Have fun with this wintry craft!
