Family Eats: PAUL Picnic Lunch Bag

It's the best time of the year to head out for a picnic. Putting together a picnic basket, however, is an art. You need to have the right quantity of food, packed perfectly, and you want it to taste good. It does become a bit of a hassle when all you want to do is have a relaxing outing.

Behold the Picnic Bag from PAUL Bakery & Restaurant! The place is already well-known for it's delicious sweets and bread. So, we definitely had high expectations when we tried their Picnic Lunch Bag for four before we headed for a picnic at Creekside Park.

For the lunch bag, you can choose four sandwiches and/or salads, four eclairs or tarts, and four juices or soft drinks. Your choice of items are presented in an insulated PAUL picnic bag along with a pretty picnic cloth.

These were the items we chose for our picnic bag:
- Fermiere Salad,
- Panache Salad
- Dieppois Sandwich
- Villagois Sandwich
- Strawberry Eclair
- Chocolate Eclair
- Red Fruits Tart
- Lemon Tart
- Strawberry Juice
- Lemon & Mint Juice
- Orange Juices

All the food items were packed perfectly, with salad leaves and dressings on the side. The bag also included a variety of bread. In short, it was the perfect picnic lunch! Except for the fact that they forgot to pack paper tissues and plastic cutlery, which we only realized at the park. However, we were able to buy them at the park.

I loved the Panache Salad which had a healthy mixed of vegetables. The Fermiere Salad was a delicious mix of grilled chicken with green apple and walnuts. The juices were fresh, and you could taste that. The Villagois Sandwich had a roast beef filling, while Dieppois Sandwich had tuna. Both were winners, but I especially liked the tuna baguette.

We couldn't have a PAUL picnic without their soft and creamy eclairs, and they were yummy as expected. The tarts were good too, although we were quite full already with the food.

A picnic bag for four could easily feed four adults, or two adults and up to three little children. A good thing about their food is that it's healthy and fresh. Plus, you don't even have to worry about getting a picnic cloth!

PAUL also offers a breakfast picnic bag for two (AED 109) or four (AED 179) which includes your choices of breads, fruit salads, jams, and juices.

The lunch picnic bag for two costs AED 159, and AED 259 for four. For more details, visit a branch near you, or check out their Facebook page.

We were invited to try the picnic bag from PAUL, but all views and opinions are my own.
