Family Eats: Brunch at Al Forsan, Bab Al Shams Resort

With the weather still so beautiful, we try to head outdoors as much as we can. So when we had a chance to visit the lovely Bab Al Shams Resort located in the desert near Al Qudra, we were really looking forward to it!

The drive from Dubai city was lined with a serene desert landscape. When you approach the resort, you begin to see a change in scenery with more greenery lining the road.

It was a Friday morning and we were there to try the All Out Friday Brunch at Al Forsan Restaurant. Luckily, we were seated outside under a canopy with a stretch of green before us. While the live cooking stations and main course dishes were outdoors, salads sides, and desserts were inside the restaurant.

There was a separate room for cold salads and soups. I liked the variety in salads, many of them were from Arabic cuisine.

Further on, there were cheeses and cold cut meats to choose from, fresh fruits, and seafood. The lobsters looked especially inviting, and tasted just as good!

Little Dude loved the kids section where he chose to have Mac n Cheese pasta, and some fish fingers. They also had sweets and desserts for the kids. The mini ice cream cones were especially popular.

Out at the live cooking stations, there were some delicious Arabic grills and kebabs, and shawarma. Other favourites such as Lamb Ouzi, Dawood Basha, and Labneh with Lamb were also on the buffet.

I also loved the Indian station with yummy Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Biryani with freshly baked Naan. They also had a Mongolian cooking station for stir fry dishes, a pasta station, and English roast.

With so much to try, it was hard to choose what to eat, and I couldn't sample more than a few dishes!

Desserts included cakes, pastries, macaroons, and parfaits. I liked the Turkish ice cream the best.

Now, brunch at Al Forsan Restaurant is definitely not just about the food. It's an all out experience that the whole family can enjoy.

There's so much for kids to do, besides running around - a bouncy castle, face painting, and balloon twisting keep them entertained. What's more, there was a mini farm that Little Dude just loved with goats and geese. He also had fun taking a camel ride with Dad!

And the best part of all was the pony ride!

There was something fun for the adults too. There was a large fish inside the restaurant that we had to guess the weight of. The people who got closest to the right answer won prizes. Sadly, we didn't!

We truly enjoyed our afternoon at Al Forsan Restaurant and hope to return to Bab Al Shams Resort soon which in itself is a beautiful property.

The All Out Friday Brunch at Al Forsan Restaurant costs AED 325 per person including soft drinks, AED 470 with house beverages, and AED 695 with bubbly.
