Family Eats: Healthy brunch at Nathalie's Cafe

Some days, all you want is a healthy and wholesome breakfast. Buffet style dining to your heart's content can be great, but some times, you just want to take it easy and eat lighter. With this in mind, we decided to try the Saturday brunch at Nathalie's Cafe, located in Dubai Sports City in the FitRepublik complex.

Nathalie's has nice, homely interiors with an emphasis on the wooden element. This gives the homegrown restaurant a comfortable vibe. With an emphasis on healthy food, this brunch isn't your Dubai-style lavish affair. There are many breakfast items to choose from the buffet.

You could start with the chunky granola, fruits and yogurt. They have some cheese and nuts, and a bruschetta bar to top your bread. They also have some zaatar manakeesh made with whole wheat. I liked the Red Quinoa Salad with strawberries and greens. The Asian style Chicken Salad was also pretty good, with a light dressing.

Among other breakfast items, there were jams, spreads, and honey. They also had fresh cakes and muffins.

If you go for the brunch, you can order one hot menu item. I chose to have the Chicken Curry, while my husband ordered Egg and Chorizo Wrap. They don't have a special menu for kids, but some items are suitable for them, Little Dude had some of the Mac & Cheese.

The chicken curry had good flavours, and was served with flaky parathas, quinoa, salad, and raita. The egg and chorizo wrap was stuffed with scrambled eggs, beef chorizo, cheddar, and refried beans.

Nathalie's Cafe used to have an activity corner for kids outside, but that has been discontinued for now because of the summer. However, they do have board games you can borrow such as Scrabble, Ludo, and other favourites. Little Dude kept himself occupied with some of them.

If you want to try something new, and have a healthy meal, check out Nathalie's Cafe. You might even acquire new fitness goals after seeing people work out in the adjoining gym!

Nathalie’s Saturday brunch is on from 9 am to 2 pm. It costs AED 75 for kids, AED 95 for breakfast buffet, and AED 125 for breakfast buffet plus one main mail from a la carte menu. Both options are inclusive of coffee, tea, or fresh orange juice. Call them on +971-4 5561888 or visit their website for details.

We were invited to review the brunch at Nathalie's Cafe, but all views and opinions are sincerely my own.
