Ramadan books for kids from Bismillah Babies

Ramadan is an important month for Muslims. It's a good idea to get the children involved in the spirit of this Holy Month in whatever little ways you can. Sometimes, it can seem that Ramadan is all about the feasting or Iftar when the fasting ends every day at sunset. Indeed, it's also the favourite part for kids! But, of course. there is much more to it than that. Ramadan is a time to talk about good deeds, abstinence from sins, and remembering the Almighty.

When I first heard about Bismillah Babies, I was impressed by the all that this home-grown organization is doing to promote Islamic concepts among children. It was founded by four moms, most of them also juggling other jobs. Bismillah Babies regularly organizes play dates which feature songs, crafts, and story telling for kids of all ages.

Their newest launch are two books for Ramadan that they were kind enough to share with us.

My Ramadan Journal Around The World

This journal is mainly about how Ramadan is celebrated across the world - 15 countries, to be exact.. It's perfect for Ramadan as it has a daily moon tracker and also a check list for daily prayers. It is also filled with craft ideas and activities. It also has recipes from different countries. This journal is idea for Muslim families as it also has sayings from the Holy Qur'an and Hadith (sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him).

This book is targeted at children between 6 and 12 years of age, but I have been using it with my son (who is 4) to talk about Ramadan traditions. We love the colourful illustrations, and craft ideas, and I'm sure we'll be referring to the journal every Ramadan.

What Is Ramadan? An Activity Book

This book is focused on the Ramadan traditions around the world, and also has craft ideas, activities, and recipes. It's ideal for multicultural families, and for anyone who wishes to introduce the concept of Ramadan to their child.

Apart from the books, Bismillah Babies also has a Ramadan Decor Set and Eid Decor Set. Each contains a banner, 6 greeting cards, 6 gift boxes and 12 cupcake toppers.

My Ramadan Journal Around The World costs AED 70, and What Is Ramadan? An Activity Book costs AED 40. The Ramdan and Eid Decor sets costs AED 90 each.

The books can be ordered from the Bismillah Babies website, or simply by emailing [email protected] Also follow them on Facebook for details on their activities. The Decor sets can be ordered on  www.mumzworld.com and also on [email protected]
