A day of outdoor fun at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai

Winter in Dubai is something we all look forward to, because we can spend more time outdoors. The Ritz-Carlton Dubai is a place we have come to love for its green gardens, relaxing pools, and an inviting beach side.

We visited them again recently to check out some outdoor activities they have for the whole family, particularly for kids.

We could hardly keep Little Dude out of the pool, and the resort has a fantastic one for kids, with a slide and all! He splashed around in the pool, while we lounged in the mild sun with the baby. The staff served us popsicles and fruit skewers, which was very refreshing.

Beach Walk

While he used to love spending time at Ritz Kids, their kids club, he's more outdoorsy now. The club has daily activities for kids, many of them outdoors. But since the weather was a little windy that day, they only did the Beach Walk. It was organised as a treasure hunt where kids had to find the treasure chest in the sands. Everyone enjoyed themselves there, and Little Dude loved the activity.

Lunch at Palm Grill

We had our lunch at the Palm Grill Restaurant, overlooking the beach. They host a Saturday BBQ Chill & Grill buffet, and on offer were a variety of healthy salads. There were also a range of barbecue stations outside offering steak, chicken, vegetables, and seafood that was freshly grilled.

The desserts were plentiful too, with bite-sized brownies, tarts, parfaits, and cakes. Along with their fresh mocktails, this was a very satisfying lunch made all the more enjoyable with the sea breeze.

Cultural Exploration

As the weather turned cooler for the evening, Little Dude and his Dad went ahead to spend more time at the beach. I headed to Amaseena, the Arabian outdoor dining concept at The Ritz-Carlton. There, I met the manager who talked to me about UAE's rich heritage. He shared photos to explain how the traditional bedouins used to live, what they ate, how they survived in the desert, what they wore, and so on. They also organize special Emirati cooking classes for guests.

That is all we had time for that day, but The Ritz-Carlton has lots more interesting activities for kids, teens, and adults happening throughout the week at the resort. This includes Amazing Nature walks, Desert Living activities, and Birdwatching tours.

We were invited to visit the resort, but all views and opinions are my own.
