Busy Hands: UAE Keepsake Box

UAE is our second home, technically, but to my kids it's undoubtedly their first home. They weren't just born here, they have spent far more time here than in our home country. We love celebrating UAE National Day on December 2 every year.

To celebrate the occasion of UAE's 46th National Day, Little Dude and I got together to make a simple craft. It's a keepsake box that we made by recycling a cardboard pasta box.

First, I cut out the box to the height I wanted, leaving one side longer to make a lid for the box.

We covered the sides with coloured paper representing the colours of the UAE flag - red, green, black, and white.

It was Little Dude's idea to write 'I 💓 UAE' on the top. He's filled his keepsake box with some of his favourite things.

Perfect to keep stuff that reminds him of the fun places he visited around the UAE as well.
